Nine startups in The Idea Village’s 2021 VILLAGEx accelerator program have raised over $9.5 million in growth capital, according to the New Orleans-based nonprofit entrepreneurial hub.
The startups have generated over $2.5 million in annual revenue and created more than 80 active jobs. The Idea Village also has completed a $1.8 million campaign supported by local and national philanthropists to fund the VILLAGEx program for three years, a news release said.
The 16-week program helps high-growth startups with innovative, technology-focused business models that are building scalable enterprises in the New Orleans region. They are mentored by entrepreneurs, investors and industry leaders.
