Waterslides closing

South Okanagan residents will have to travel a bit farther now to reach an outdoor waterslide park, as the last remaining one in the area has announced its closure.
On Feb. 8, Osoyoos RV Campground and Waterslides posted on Facebook that its “waterslides will not operate anymore.”
Owners Nadia and Tony Slovak told Castanet they decided to close down the waterslide portion of the park, as operations had become more challenging during the pandemic and they decided to extend the campground instead.
“Practically, [we’re] just getting rid of the waterslides and making it a campground,” Nadia said, adding the waterslide park is a lot of work and has been around for 40 years.
While the owners have been trying to sell the park for many years and had interest, no official sales have gone through.
