

Rita and Ken Carr were out for a drive one day in June when they passed Hickey’s Creekside and decided to explore the small community in Alva. Two months later they moved in.
“It was a whirlwind,” Rita Carr said.
At the time the Carr’s were living in Fort Myers and were not looking for a new home.
“We just went for a ride, and we were going to go out to LaBelle and we stopped, and put our masks on, and we just fell in love with it,” Carr explained. “We made an offer on the house a week after we saw it.”
Their Fort Myers home sold in just 12 days and by mid-August they were enjoying life in Hickey’s Creek.
“It is so amazing,” Carr said. “Every day we say ‘we were scared to do this, but we are so thankful now that we are here.’”
